This committee is not going to bring such a charge, or instigate any punishment. We do not have the authority to do that. That is something the independent counsel does. And is it not the case that whenever our hearings end, the independent counsel will continue? He has an open-ended charter, and it is his responsibility to look into this matter and to bring charges for any violation of the criminal law.
