John Sarbanes: “I wanted to make that point because some are arguing that somehow we are giving over to someone else the decisionmaking…”

On the recordMarch 11, 2003
I wanted to make that point because some are arguing that somehow we are giving over to someone else the decisionmaking authority, in case we are confronted with an imminent danger, to respond. That is not the case at all. So as we see this situation, that is not present. The question becomes how smart and how wise are we in exercising this unquestioned power, which we hold now on the international scene; is that not correct?
