Under his leadership, Minnesota instituted a progressive income tax, created a Social Security program for older people, expanded the State's environmental conservation programs, guaranteed equal pay for women, and fought for the right to collective bargaining and a minimum wage. He is quite a great figure, and it is hard to think of a more deserving figure in Minnesota than that of Floyd Olson. We are delighted to endorse passage of this legislation.
