“I am glad the gentleman raised the issue of the opportunity, that we must take the opportunities that we have to speak out with regard to what is happening in our country. And the fact is that he is right. Before the war the Congressional Black Caucus raised some very crucial questions, some folks were hollering the word ``unpatriotic,'' and we made it very clear, as we make it clear today that we support our troops 1 million percent. We want them to be at their very best. We want them to be well-equipped. At the same time, we want to make sure that the crucial questions are asked because after all, the people that we represent are the ones who will end up paying the bill. But not only them but their children and their children's children and their children's children's children will be paying this bill.”
