Elijah Cummings: “The Bible says, Where there is no vision, the people perish. And the question is, and the gentlewoman hit the nail on…”

On the recordMarch 25, 2004
The Bible says, Where there is no vision, the people perish. And the question is, and the gentlewoman hit the nail on the head, what is the vision that we have as opposed to what the other side of the aisle and our President have? I think our vision is for a better America, an America where each person has an opportunity, just as all these Congresspeople have had, to use all of the things that are within them to be the best that they can be. We have tried in our budget to make sure that we did everything that we could to make sure that they had fertile ground to develop and be all they can be.
