I share the concern of this Committee, from this Member, that 18 months is just unacceptable in terms of a delay in our authorizing what ought to be a companion between what we do in transportation and what we do with our energy policy.

we have to have an argument that realizes that there is a healthy balance of parents being involved in schools, but also that professionals are making determinations about what is or is not taught in the schools.
I'm not confident in any of that. And especially in the polling, I mean, we've seen that it's been problematic in the past.
I think it was quite a monumental task to get it through the House and negotiate it. And I also think there are a number of provisions that are in the House version that have already been kind of pre negotiated with the Senate.
