I would just ask my Republican colleagues to consider why they want to write a provision in the Constitution of the United States that would make it harder to shut down a special interest tax loophole for the purpose of reducing the deficit for our children and grandchildren. We must not forget that a federal judge has already made clear what we have long known: the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice is engaged in a vindictive prosecution against Kilmar.
We must hold them to this standard and hold a hearing to determine what the Department knows, as well as request the original report written by embassy staff on the status about these killings.
Last night’s ruling from a federal judge made plain: the Administration’s efforts are in clear violation of Congressional intent.
The job of a U.S. ambassador, and their staff, whether a political or civilian employee, is to defend and protect U.S. interests.
