Actually, what we are talking about, Mr. Speaker, is a Republican plan that actually cuts the top rate for folks at the top from 39 percent to 25 percent. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has said that will actually leave the middle class family--typical family--paying another $2,000, so that you can give the folks at the very top another tax break. When you increase the deficit, guess who pays the bill? Everybody, all the taxpayers do. So you give a tax break to the folks at the top, increase the deficit, and everybody else is left to pay the bill. That is not the right way to go. Vote for this motion.
