USCIS’s actions have repeatedly increased the burden of and difficulty in obtaining U.S. citizenship.
At the end of the day, that has to happen. We have a system of laws, we need to enforce them.
We should not price citizenship outside the reach of immigrants; instead, we should explore ways to encourage individuals to fulfill the American Dream.
The good news – I wish that list was longer … we have been able to put together a fiscal year 2026 budget. That is a low bar, but in these divided times, it was important.
