“Mr. Speaker, I have had a lot of town hall meetings in my district; and I will tell my colleagues what my constituents do not like. That is, they do not like us to charge and spend; and that is exactly what this conference report is going to do. It is going to borrow money in order to give tax breaks. This bill is going to hurt our economy, not help our economy. What we should be doing is responsibly managing our resources. We should not be borrowing money to give a tax cut. That is wrong.”
