I am very proud of this bill because we do meet the needs of our veterans, those who fought the war over there so we could have peace here. I am very proud of what we have done in housing and urban economic development because what we want to do is create an opportunity ladder so people can make sure they have the opportunity for a better life, that there is local control in decisionmaking, strengthening communities whether they are in rural or urban America. I am very proud of what we have done on the environment. We have funded clean air, clean water, safe drinking water, the ongoing efforts to clean up the Chesapeake Bay and many other bays around the United States of America. Also, in terms of science and technology, again, we have increased the funding so we can come up with the new ideas that ultimately will save lives, generate jobs, and save communities. That is what this bill is all about.
