I believe what the Senator from Arkansas has done is modernize the consumer product safety framework from when it was originally invented in the 1970s. Technology has come a long way. Products are more complex. Imports are on the rise. We know we need to modernize if we are going to protect Americans. I view what the Senator from Arkansas has done as an act of homeland security because what is it homeland security does? It protects the American people from anyone who has a predatory intent toward the United States.
