Barbara Mikulski: “I acknowledge the validity of my colleagues' concerns and look forward to working with them to try to address these…”

Your leadership in placing the Women's Suffrage National Monument on the National Mall will expand our Nation's understanding of American women's leadership.

Nothing about me without me.

It will be a proud day for our country when every girl who visits the National Mall is able to see herself represented amongst the giants of our national story.

As the longest serving woman in congressional history, I proudly stand on the shoulders of the suffragists who fought bravely and boldly for generations to secure women's political equality.
