The bottom line is the Senate is too lazy to do America’s business right now, and that’s just plain wrong. America deserves better.

[Democrats] could have written it to last forever. They didn’t. They wrote it to expire this year. So we should just let it expire.

There’s a little work left to be done, but if the president calls the Senate back in town, we should be able to do it.
