What's there to hide? As I said, if a regulation is justified, why should the government hide data from the public in their justification of a regulation? Mr. Chairman, I've done scientific studies. I've been the peer reviewer on scientific studies. If I have a question about data, I ask for it and I get it and I review it myself. This is the same access the public should have. Nobody wants dirty air, nobody wants dirty water; but if we're going to pass job-killing regulations, we better be sure that that is sound science it's based on. That's what this amendment does, and I urge support. I yield back the balance of my time. The Acting CHAIR. The question is on the amendment offered by the gentleman from Maryland (Mr. Harris).
