I say to the gentleman from Washington State that just 2 weeks ago we passed by unanimous consent the oversight plan which the majority has for the Department of the Interior, and the minority signed off on that oversight plan over all of the regulations and all of the various agencies that come under the jurisdiction of our committee. We did not fight that. This debate tonight is something that doesn't really even have to take place. That's what has been lacking on the House floor since the Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives. And that's the most important agenda for our country. And I don't believe that we can accomplish that goal if the Republicans continue with their objective of $100 million in profits going to oil companies at the same time that they want to give $40 billion worth of tax breaks to them. That is not really a good policy for our country. That's not going to create any new jobs.…”
