Social Security, in my opinion, is undoubtedly the bedrock of the U.S. retirement system.

At best, the Republican tax bill was a massive missed opportunity, squandering $1.9 trillion on tax breaks for those who don't need them at a time our Nation can least afford it.

I also know that most of the good work we can all do together happens beneath the political din and sensationalized conflict.

The reality is that the Republican tax bill is doing exactly what virtually all mainstream economists and Democrats said it would do.
