The reality is that the Republican tax bill is doing exactly what virtually all mainstream economists and Democrats said it would do.
But, by adding $1.9 trillion to the national debt, the tax law gives Republicans their latest justification to target Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Social Security, in my opinion, is undoubtedly the bedrock of the U.S. retirement system.
