This proposed rule would allow debt collectors and collection attorneys to attempt to collect old, expired debt.

Research has shown that some student-loan borrowers are finding themselves physically ill as a result of the stress and anxiety associated with their loans.

My bill would prohibit the Director from issuing rules allowing collectors to bombard consumers with unlimited text messages and emails.

I am introducing H.R. 4664, the Monitoring and Curbing Abusive Debt Collection Practices Act.

I urge the remainder of my colleagues to do the same.

It is clear that the current system is insufficient. Small and local banks and small businesses alike do stand to benefit from this proposal.
