The Public Record
Steve Scalise is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 1st congressional district since 2008. A member of the Republican Party, Scalise has held significant leadership roles, including serving as the House Majority Whip. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on issues such as tax reform, healthcare, and energy policy, advocating for conservative principles in Congress.
I caution Administrator Strickland against completing the transition just because a new administration will take over in January 2017.
I have remained concerned whether this transition was in the best interest of the Internet and whether the global community was capable of taking on this responsibility.
Progress does not guarantee a successful outcome. And given the importance of the Internet, anything short of a successful outcome is unacceptable.
