If this Congress is going to be serious about rebuilding our nuclear infrastructure, it must continue to express support for the long-term commitment of Barksdale Air Force Base and for the majority of the nuclear triad.

These tariffs pose a serious risk to our economy, they could trigger a trade war, and they may damage our relations with key allies.

I strongly oppose the tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

Why did you and the Administration ignore the view of Secretary Mattis and still go ahead with the tariffs?

DoD does not believe that the findings in the reports impact the ability of DoD programs to acquire steel or aluminum necessary to meet national defense requirements.

It is paramount that we put somebody in charge at the head of an agency, an agency where we have seen a 15 percent increase.

This is a vital lifeline to the American citizens.

I think that it is going to be a long time before they recover, and you know, we continue to assist them every way we can.

We need to make sure that we both nominate and confirm and put somebody at the head of this vital agency for all of America.

Mr. President, we need you to nominate a Commissioner now.

I advocate inside the Pentagon with the Army that they modernize the Army National Guard in a concurrent and balanced manner.

It is good to be with a committee that has a lot of authority and power.

This is a particular concern at a time when we have seen a dramatic increase in assaults on agents. And just last year, assaults on agents were up 76 percent. They totaled 774 for 2017.

Our government has placed the men and women who patrol our border, as well as the American citizens who live on or near the border, in a very difficult position.

But we need to remember that just voting no every time a budget is on the floor doesn't give you more money to serve the people that we complain about.
