But if the funding, you know, is short, then it puts a crimp in this particular formula.

You all have--you are in the position to have control of this schedule so that--because they are really moving pieces.

We commend you all for the work that is ongoing, and we look forward to continuing the partnership in that regard.

Well, and I realize that, and I know that you all have worked a great deal on this, and I am not going to reach any conclusion.

I think it would be a great misuse of our donors' money to now revisit the idea of moving elsewhere.

I have been proud to support this Committee's goal of doubling the NIH budget over the last five years

I support greater oversight both internally and by Congress to create a process that will not allow the integrity of the NIH clinical research to be compromised

It is important that we do all that we can as a Committee to ensure that individuals' own interests do not taint the NIH research

I reject that view, and I believe his attacks against people who work for you are unfair and misguided.

However, had we been more patient, I believe we could have dealt with Saddam Hussein without damaging relations with important allies.

That is a misstatement of history.

I just think the principle of it is important for America, that we intend to be the primary military superpower in the world.

I believe the Administration abandoned the diplomatic track too soon.

I think that that practice that we have somewhat developed in the United States could actually be quite applicable for Iraq.

The military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, in response to September 11th, will create a world where Americans can live in security.

I urge us to pursue that in a pretty aggressive way, because over the short, medium, and long term, it would be a great advantage to the country.

I agree with your assessment that it would be wise for us to be both a military superpower and a diplomatic superpower.

I would like to thank Senator DeWine and Senator Lautenberg for introducing legislation today that would provide substantial funding for enforcement efforts to stop drunk driving and increase seatbelt use.
