This culture down here is very much in peril. People's ways of life is very much at risk here.

I do. And, Anderson, to be honest with you, if it wouldn't be for you and a couple other people, I would be more scared.

People have lost an unbelievable amount of money.

I'm very fearful that the attention is going to drift away, and people will move on to other things, and the people of my state and my region will be forgotten.

It worries me because this would be the equivalent of saying, well, we beat Rommel in North Africa. We can all go home now.

The short-term reimbursement, the long-term cleanup, these are things that are going to take a long time, if our culture is to survive here.

The economy here is literally in shambles.

I mean, vigilance has got to be the -- the sort of the word.

And this is -- again, it worries me because this would be the equivalent of saying, well, we beat Rommel (ph) in North Africa. We can all go home now.

This is good. It was good that we won, the Allies won El Alamein, and Montgomery (ph), did. But this -- in a historical context, this is just the end of the beginning.

Vigilance has got to be the subtle word.

But the other thing is, why doesn't the United States government make them?

People have said, let them drill and just don't penetrate the reservoir until you know.

The federal government is about to kill us. It's just about to kill us with their levees and with their regulatory --

Look, people here have been so let down. The levees, the federal government let us down. The MMS colossally let everybody down.

I mean, you know, they are sitting there with potential criminal charges. And God knows what their civil fines are or anything else. And why are we fooling with these people? We have been invaded by them.

This is a catastrophe of the first magnitude.

But they can't be, because they have an obligation to their shareholders, just like they can't be transparent about the flow.

The reason that they don't let you out there is one word and it's not plastic. It's lawyers.

I think -- I'm afraid if their shareholders -- I don't -- I think this thing -- like I said, my own view -- and I hope I'm wrong -- but has been from the get-go, this is a catastrophe of the first magnitude.
