I thank the chairman for including this provision, and I would note that the Corps of Engineers has long worked to ensure the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint, ACF, River Basin and Alabama-Coosa- Tallapoosa, ACT, River Basins are able to meet the demands of users in Georgia, Alabama and Florida through its operation of dams and reservoirs, and performs an important role in regulating the flow of surface water in these basins. Further, it is the intent of WRDA Section 2015 to recognize that role and to assist the States' efforts to reach an end to their disputes. While the committee does not intend to express any opinion about reallocations under the existing authority of the Water Supply Act and its application to these basins, we do believe these States should work to come to an agreement. Additionally, the Chairman and I intend to express these same sentiments to the Corps of Engineers through a letter that will be submitted into the Record soon after passage of this bill. Mrs BOXER.
