Certainly, Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the CAFE standards are still out there and have a great impact on our economy and our society.
I think it is entirely appropriate for this subcommittee to revisit the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975.
As a result, President Reagan eliminated these price controls, and we are all better off because of it.
Of course, under the act, the President does have the authority to allow the export of crude oil.
