Maximum pressure worked. America’s military strength worked. The blockade worked. Iran came to the table because the regime’s existence teetered on a knife’s edge.

I think that’s broadly held by most Republicans and most Americans.

I think character, integrity to principle, are enormously important in the life of our movement, in the life of our nation.

That’s it. And no vice president in history had ever asserted any authority to decide what votes to count or send back to the states ... so I knew my duty was clear and I’ll always believe, by God’s grace, I did my duty.
