I am grateful for your efforts and for the help that you have given me and remain grateful.

I would hope so, that we can find a way to move this bill and to move actual verifiable accountability into the issue of the IT with the VA.

This IT security directive is designed to assist VA in mitigating known weaknesses.

My concern was the breaches that have taken place with our veterans nationwide.

I think we have a really unique opportunity in time right now to be able to affect what the rest of the government does and what the rest of the nation does.

VA's network has been compromised at least ten times since March, 2010.

Unfortunately, VA's lack of cooperation has been a longstanding issue that continues to this day.

It is my hope and expectation that this Subcommittee... will explore and gain a better understanding of the entire program.

We need to continue to invest in our kids and America's future.

SNAP is the one program that makes the most sense to me.

Taxpayers and recipients deserve a thoughtful and thorough review of SNAP.

This has created a web of programs, causing confusion for recipients who are trying to feed their families.

I am so grateful that you are here, and I can tell you that, since the beginning of this Congressional period, I am Chairing the Subcommittee on Nutrition, which looks at this whole SNAP program.

It's imperative that we first understand what works and doesn't within SNAP.

That is awesome. That is so great.

Thank you for inviting me to discuss federally funded domestic food assistance programs.

We want to ensure every person has access to food and this overlap could be causing confusion in the system.

I know what poverty looks like, both internationally, and what it looks like in my own district.

What doesn't work? The Federal Emergency Management Agency's administration of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

It is unacceptable that any child in this great nation could go hungry.

It can't be one or the other. It has to be two trains running.

Hunger doesn't motivate. It dulls and makes people sick.
