This year, I would like to honor a true leader of northwest Indiana, Dr. Vanessa Allen-McCloud, who has served as president and CEO of the Urban League of Northwest Indiana for more than a decade. In this role, Dr. Allen-McCloud works to promote services to improve social, educational, and economic opportunities for African Americans and other minority groups throughout northwest Indiana. Under her leadership, the Urban League continues to grow and succeed and has become an outstanding source of support for many individuals and organizations.
