The tragedy of what has happened here is that, while there is as much bipartisan support for this legislation as any other piece of legislation in the last 5 years within the Congress, we are unable to get to the finish line.

One of the first things you can do--at this hearing, even--is to make a strong statement of support for professionalism in the IC and pledge that you will not tolerate politics influencing the analytical process.
