Tammy Duckworth is a United States Senator from Illinois, serving since January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented Illinois's 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017. Duckworth is a veteran of the Iraq War, where she became the first female double amputee from the conflict, an experience that has shaped her advocacy for veterans and military families.
