Mr. Speaker, about 2 weeks ago a number of us came to the floor to speak on market access, and that is the ability of Americans to purchase medications anywhere in Canada, Ireland, England, France, Germany, Italy, wherever they get the cheapest price. Since the last time that my good friend from Minnesota and I were here, there was a report yesterday by Families USA that ABC news covered and the Wall Street Journal covered, and I would like to bring that statistic to the attention of the American people. It reaffirmed a disturbing trend about skyrocketing prescription drug prices in the United States. On average, the prices of the 50 drugs most commonly prescribed to seniors increased at a three-and-a-half times rate of inflation.
