I am proud of the investments we made last year.

This Nation faces significant challenges with housing affordability and homelessness.

It is always great to see a former House colleague, especially one who shares our interest in transforming our Nation's housing infrastructure.

I do think these are valuable as an outlet for people to express the issues they have to us.

I mean, as they tell us, housing is transit and transit is housing. The two are inexorably linked.

Thank you, Chair. The chair is right; this subcommittee funds programs that impact every district in the country.

I reminded the staff here today that a gentleman named Edward Everett spoke for 3 hours at Gettysburg, and no one remembers it. Lincoln spoke for under 3 minutes; a lesson for all of us.

I also look forward to working with you and this entire committee in this next Congress. There is a lot of work to do, but couldn't ask for better partners.

As we reflect on the 1-year anniversary of Putin's war against Ukraine, it cannot help but remind us of why we fought in the Second World War and that the fight in Ukraine embodies the very same principles we fought for in the Second World…

I believe that we are going to get all 12 bills passed and approved and we won't need a CR.

I cannot imagine the number of people that are going to be confused.

But when I look at my three grandsons in their eyes, and I see that they had nothing to do with creating the problem, but yet we are going to give them the opportunity to pay for it, I just think that is morally wrong on our part.

I strongly believe that sufficient funds for our judicial system should not be a partisan issue and will advocate for highest possible funding to support the judiciary's priorities.

Greater public access to the federal courts also increases accountability in the judicial system and builds faith in our democracy.
