This legislation isn't going anywhere; isn't going to be approved in the Senate, it may not even be approved in the House of Representatives.

I have been working on this Committee for almost 20 years fighting for comprehensive immigration reform...

Third, the bills would severely weaken our asylum and refugee protection system ensuring the vulnerable groups are sent back to their persecutors against our heritage as a safe haven for the worlds oppressed.
