The only way we are going to get this town to change the way they spend money is bypassing a balanced budget amendment, by forcing both Houses every year to balance their books.

If it takes us a few days more to make sure we get it right, let's do it.

If you raise this debt ceiling and don't get serious about spending, in all likelihood you will get downgraded.
