As has been mentioned, last month, I joined Ranking Members Eshoo and Pallone to request a hearing on updating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act for the 21st century.

Those of us serving on these subcommittees have responsibility to reject hollow arguments put forth to justify lower targets.

We now face a different and larger crisis, the threat of global climate change. I am not here to debate science. The argument is settled.

Fortunately I think we have made great advances in auto safety as well as fuel efficiency.
