I believe we are having it on the wrong bill.

the Vehicle Safety Improvement Act, includes imminent hazard authority, which gives the Administration the ability to step in and issue a recall

It has been 20 months since the initial GM recall, and you would think this committee would have acted sooner.

I think it is a mistake to hold this hearing without a non-government data security witness.

I am concerned that this draft bill would put more strain on NHTSA and its already over-stressed resources without actually improving safety.

My legislation, the Vehicle Safety Improvement Act, would facilitate communications.

I think it is outrageous. Consumers like myself who now have a hybrid are seeking that.

If I were a driver of one of these vehicles that is contributing up to 40 times the amount of emissions, I would want that addressed right away.

People shouldn't have to wait to get the fuel economy, the low emissions, and performance that they already paid for.

So, in the meantime, though, there are half a million cars running around that are emitting greater emissions.
