I believe that increasing our Nation's spending on Alzheimer's research to just 1 percent of what we are currently spending to care for Alzheimer's patients is a wise investment.

If we want to have a successful treatment for Alzheimer's, start while there are still lots of brain cells and see if you can protect them.

Our resolution calls for a doubling of our investment in Alzheimer's research in fiscal year 2015 and resolves that the Senate will develop a plan to meet our ultimate goal of a $2 billion annual investment within the next 5 years.
