So we are in the middle of a public health crisis, not just the coronavirus, but youth vaping.

The President's budget, his proposal is to cut the Healthcare Workforce Program by $824,000,000, or about 50 percent.

This is literally what I see as one of the most complicated challenges that our Nation and our world are facing today.

And all this could be prevented if the United States Government in this administration, didn't have these kind of policies that is allowing these children to go through this kind of trauma?

I don't care who is in the White House. I don't care if it is a Democrat or Republican.

There is bipartisan consensus that the United States needs significant investment in our infrastructure to build a strong foundation for a successful economy.

If we have one single lock that goes down, literally it puts a dead stop to the navigation of our goods.

We need to make sure that we direct Federal investment to the areas with demonstrated need.

This indicates to me that going after labor unions is more important than keeping workers safe.

There is nothing that is, from a Department of Labor perspective, that is more important than making sure that workers, American workers, always come first.

This is a clear threat to free and fair elections, a big concern, I think, to probably everybody sitting in front of you.

We need to make sure our elections are free and fair.

We are really proud of the work that the men and women do there and that they produce readiness not just for the Army but for all services.

I think with our high school students out there today this is democracy in action, and welcome to our hearing.

I think that is part of the problem when we have basically a Secretary who is overseeing all of education who doesn't seem to want to work with us in making this better for our children.

I don't think it is our job up here to protect the Secretary of Education.

We applaud Representative Busto for providing a remedy for this undue burden during a time of grief.

The Reduce Unemployment for Veterans of All Ages Act would lift this arbitrary limit and ensure veterans get the support they have earned and deserve.

I can hardly think of anything worse than taking advantage of a grieving widow whose spouse made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

These laws are expanding access to treatment and providing recovery support services, financial resources to help States take action to prevent the misuse and abuse of opioids.

I get the feeling that the Republican leadership is just checking the box instead of giving members, staff and stakeholders the time to consider important issues like the opioid crisis.

This would ensure that all providers who treat patients for pain with opioids have training on the best practices for prescribing opioids, early detection of opioid addiction, and treatment and management of opioid-dependent patients.

So while the National Institutes of Health funding has seen some tremendous growth over the last 20 years, the funding for Down syndrome research has remained somewhat flat.

It is important to me that we treat everyone with value.
