The measure of America's progress is not whether the doors of opportunity are cracked a little wider for a few, but whether our economic system provides a fair shot for the many.

I respect the passion of these young people. Because they feel deeply about the concerns for their families.

That's why we're here.

We cannot accept Iran having a nuclear weapon.

I'm as proud as I've ever been by the work we did to make sure that in this country, if you get sick you don't go bankrupt and that you can get the health care that you need.

This is not politics; these are not games.

Ultimately, this translates into real-life consequences.

It doesn't matter what you look like, where you come from, what your last name is, who you love.

That's a fight worth fighting; I'm proud that we fought it; and we're going to keep on fighting it.

Most of the debates that we're having right now... have to do with what do we stand for, who are we as a people.

I'm confident we're going to get immigration reform passed sooner or later, because it's the right thing to do.

That's not the country I want to live in.

The question becomes what during this moment, this week, this month, this year, next year, the next 3 years, what can we do to continue to advance this core idea.

And for all our flaws, that's what the Democratic Party is all about.

I try to think back to how I got involved in public service in the first place.

Don't let a minority of folks block something that the country desperately needs.

This is good for the country. It's the right thing to do for the American people.

We should get the deal signed and set about the work of planning the presence of the United States and our allies after the war ends next year.

That success, that achievement, what makes us exceptional, doesn't happen on its own.

We've made enormous progress over the last 5 years on a whole variety of issues.

I'm optimistic about the future.

We're talking about making sure that our civil rights laws are enforced...

We know that we can bring down our deficits.

This is the place where you can reach for something better if you work hard.

We're with you. The whole country hears you.
