Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to 2008 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Obama is known for his signature policies including the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and his efforts in economic recovery following the 2008 financial crisis. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements and a focus on healthcare reform, climate change, and foreign policy initiatives such as the Iran nuclear deal.
Joining Forces issued a call to action to all 50 U.S. governors to take executive and/or legislative action to streamline state licensing for the military community.
We believe Greece will succeed if it stays focused on opening itself up for business with these ongoing structural reforms.
We will fully continue to implement our commitments under the Iran deal and under the Paris agreement.
But America's gratitude to our veterans is something always grounded in something greater than what you did on duty.
We can practice kindness. We can pay it forward. We can volunteer. We can serve.
It's also an appreciation of the example that you continue to set after your service has ended: your example as citizens.
The Change Direction initiative is a collection of concerned citizens, nonprofit leaders, and leaders from the private sector who have come together to change America's perception of mental health, mental illness, and wellness.
We can never serve our veterans in quite the same way that they served us.
Since the launch of Joining Forces, the unemployment rate for our 9/11 generation of veterans has been reduced from more than 12 percent to lower than the national average today.
