This is very dangerous and hearkens back to some of the darkest periods in American history.

Taking the necessary steps to assist the Commonwealth in timely implementing solutions to its well-recognized financial challenges is important not only to the Island but to the Nation as a whole.

I would agree with the observation of Mr. Weiss that it is crucially important that economic incentives be in place to allow the economic renewal in Puerto Rico to go forward.

The people of Puerto Rico are entitled to a prosperous and sustainable economic future.
