Why is he gaining so much? Because nobody that is running for president with the exception of Chris Christie, Asa Hutchison and Will Hurd are speaking out and saying that what Donald Trump did was wrong.

But if you want to have policy differences in the future, you've got to actually vote to defend democracy.

I don't think it's just protected political speech when you make a threat, because, look, there are people out there that are going to take that seriously and they can go to take action.

Donald Trump is really good, and he's practiced this over decades of saying something, but in a way that you could somehow conceivably, at least with a straight face, argue that you mean something else.

Don't be in leadership if you're unwilling to say the hard truth to people.

It is okay to ask electors to switch their vote, it is not okay to create fake electors and attack the Capitol to get your way.

He's mad, not at the people who are asking the question. He's frankly mad that he has to come up with that lie and stand there and say that.

I think they're still hoping just like in 2016, that somehow this magic pony is going to come out of the sky and Donald Trump is going to be taken out of this race.

It is like, it's nuts and I just -- this doesn't feel like real life. It is real life and that is why it's so important for us to follow through and make sure justice is done.

I think DeSantis is -- I think he's DOA in this election.

I think, look, every indictment, every legal issue makes it less likely that Donald Trump wins the presidency because certainly, I think Independents this will affect, and you know, it will drive turnout from the Democrats and may depress…

It gives a huge advantage to him because people that would be voting in a Republican primary that are legitimately concerned about whether the party can unify around Donald Trump.

This is again, a party that is desperate and it's a party that is really sliding into authoritarianism.

You're taking away the voice of countless citizens if somebody simply says I can't get on the ballot, because I'm not making a fake pledge to support somebody.

Well, first off, it says terrible things about your candidates that you're like, they're so bad that you have to try to force everybody else to support them. And I think it's anti-democratic, small d democratic.

Well, I mean, first off, how awful is your candidate that you have to do this in the first place?

Look, if you want to -- if you want to forgive student loans, that's great. I don't know if it's good policy, but you have to go through Congress with that.

The First Amendment isn't there to protect the religious arguments we agree with. It is not there to protect the speech that we agree with. It is actually there to protect the stuff we don't agree with, because that's what's in danger.

I could guarantee you, in his mind right now, he thinks if I win, that's why I think the trial is going to get stalled as long as they possibly can.

I think that's his defense, it is to try to win the people over, run for president, win the re-election and maybe someday pardon himself.
