These are critical issues that we need to face and deal with.

I think it is about time that we had a serious policy conversation in this country about whether that State-by-State approach is reasonable and whether it is the best way to protect consumers.

Our economy is finally getting back on track, and full implementation of S. 2155 will continue to drive growth and improve economic health to the benefit of families across America.

We encourage you to use your discretion to address the overly broad application of these provisions.

I commend those efforts and encourage the Fed to continue to move forward on those aggressively.

I would like to encourage each of you to quickly implement S. 2155 and significantly tailor regulations for banks.

The same spirit of unity that marked our response in the weeks and months after 9/11 should also infuse our response to Russian attacks.

The Democratic Members of the Committee refused to participate in that investigation.

The question is whether the ABA, or anybody for that matter, should be giving a blackball and be able to prohibit or ban a candidate from being considered by this Committee if it does not give it its approval.

I, too, appreciate deeply the work that the ABA does and the ratings and reviews that it gives on all of our candidates.

I believe it is something where both a strong economy and a strong environment can be achieved.

I want to talk to you about western States issues.

I personally do not want to see the executive branch making law without involvement of Congress to the maximum extent possible.

There is a concern among many Members of Congress that Congress has delegated too much of its responsibility to the executive branch.
