“initially I would like to thank the gentleman from Alabama (Mr. Rogers) for bringing this bill before us. It is something I have looked at for some time, and it is something that I certainly support. Whenever somebody stands up in a uniform, we will find somebody with another agenda trying to find a way to erode the values that put them in that place; and so the argument was made, for example, the Boy Scouts would be one, and of course, all our men and women in uniform in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and the Coast Guard are also victims of an effort that is keeping us from recruiting good people because the campuses have lined up against the recruitment on campus.”
