This budget is the largest tax increase in the history of America; it amounts to $683 billion in tax increases over the next 5 years. That's almost triple the largest tax increase in history that took place in 1993. We remember that year, 1993, that was a $240.6 billion tax increase, about a third of what this one amounts to in `93. We will look back and remember what happened in 1994, Republicans took over the majority in the House of Representatives partly because of overspending.
