The amendment is as follows (Purpose: To prevent changes to the State and local tax (SALT) deduction that mainly benefit the wealthy) On page 52, strike lines 2 through 12 and insert the following: SEC. 3001. RESERVE FUND FOR LEGISLATION THAT WON'T RAISE TAXES ON PEOPLE MAKING LESS THAN $400,000 AND WON'T MAKE CHANGES TO THE STATE AND LOCAL TAX DEDUCTION THAT MAINLY BENEFIT THE WEALTHY IN THE SENATE. The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate may revise the allocations of a committee or committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger, for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to changes in revenues, without raising taxes on people making less than $400,000 or making changes to the Federal tax deduction for State and local taxes which results in a tax cut for those earning over $1,000,000, by the
