The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To provide employee protections for the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service Act) At the end of title XI, add the following: SEC. 11__. PROTECTIONS FOR THE COMMISSIONED CORPS OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE ACT. (a) In General.--Section 221(a) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 213a(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following: ``(18) Section 1034, Protected Communications; Prohibition of Retaliatory Personnel Actions.''. (b) Conforming Amendment.--Section 221(b) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 213a(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following: ``For purposes of paragraph (18) of subsection (a), the term `Inspector General' in section 1034 of such title 10 shall mean the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services.''.
