Katherine Chi Tai is an American attorney and trade policy expert currently serving as the United States Trade Representative since March 2021. She is notable for being the first Asian American and the first woman of color to hold this position. In her role, Tai has focused on addressing trade issues and promoting fair trade practices, particularly in relation to China and other global partners. Her work emphasizes the importance of labor rights and environmental standards in trade agreements.

I think that what I would say is, the provision that you cited earlier really has more to do with withdrawing the United States from the WTO as opposed to the authority of the United States to participate at the WTO as a full member.
