We’ve got to amplify this so this is a national conversation. They are successful when they convince us it is parochial, only happening to some people. It’s only happening in the South. It’s only happening to black people. No. This is happening to all of us. We all have to be heard. We are the power. It is not hyperbole. This is not idealism. We have to create such a clamor that to do otherwise, to do anything other than save our democracy from these to use your word pernicious laws is to do a disservice to our country.
