I continue to support my President. I support his request for $87 billion in funding for Iraq. The only thing I disagree with the administration about is how we structure that funding. None of us disagrees about the fact that we need the $67 billion for the military operation in Iraq. But to take the remainder of the $20 billion and to put half of it in the form of a grant to tell the people of Iraq we are going to give you the money to go in and rebuild your infrastructure is certainly reasonable. To tell them also that we want you to make an investment in Iraq just like we as the American taxpayers are making an investment in Iraq is also reasonable.
